Meet Kate
Assistant Professor & Qualitative Research Methodologist
Professional Yoga Teacher & Yoga Teacher Trainer
I am a graduate of the University of Georgia where I earned a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology and a certificate in Interdisciplinary Qualitative Research Studies.
Currently, I am an Assistant Professor at Piedmont University where I teach classes in the Advanced Graduate Studies department and work one-on-one with students earning their education doctorate. I teach introductory and advanced research methods courses (online/hybrid), direct doctoral research, and serve as a research methodologist for dissertation committees. I am also a Part-Time Instructor for the University of Georgia where I teach qualitative research design courses online.
Prior to my work in higher education, I spent several years as a high school mathematics teacher. I have worked in public, charter, and private schools, and I have a passion for working with diverse groups of gifted and talented adolescents.
I am also a professional yoga teacher, with my training and practice lying in the Pranakriya and Kripalu traditions. I am a Lead Teacher and Teacher Trainer at M3Yoga in Athens, Ga. I believe every body is a yoga body and often lead classes directed towards supporting students' individual experiences on their mats. My goal as a teacher is to share the essence of yoga so that students leave class feeling more grounded and alive.
Thanks for stopping by!
Kate
