Live+Move: Taking Your Practice Deeper
This workshop consists of a 30-minute pranayama introduction and a 90-minute yoga experience designed to guide you deeper into your practice by weaving beginner pranayama exercises throughout a seamless flow of postures and ending with an extended savasana. This all levels class is suitable for seasoned yogis who are looking for a rich experience, yoga teachers who need to replenish their well, and students interested in learning more about pranayama, meditation, and asana.
Experience with dirgha, ujjayi, and kapalabhati pranayamas are encouraged but not necessary. A brief demonstration of each will be provided at the start of the class. Additional pranayama techniques will also be incorporated. Essential oils will be offered to provide a unique sensory experience at different parts of the class.
EssentialYoga Workshop
This workshop is for yogis interested in essential oils, essential oil enthusiasts, and yoga teachers eager to learn how to incorporate essential oils in their classes.
Essential oils have been used throughout yoga’s history, primarily in reference to yoga’s ayurvedic science. The benefits of essentials oils are vast including supporting your emotional needs, immune system, and physical health. Come and experience the benefits of pairing essential oils with your yoga practice.
A brief introduction of essential oils will be followed by a 75 minute meditative posture yoga class highlighting 6 different essential oils. Participants will be invited to experience selected essential oils aromatically, topically, and internally.
Flow Yoga
This class is an all levels Hatha flow class centered on breath, movement, and sensation. Flow Yoga incorporates beginner pranayama exercises with traditional yoga postures to bring balance, strength, and rest to the body. Class typically ends with a restorative pose for final relaxation. This class can be modified for women who are pregnant, students with injuries, or those recovering from sickness or surgery.
Therapeutic Yoga
This class works with common musculoskeletal imbalances that occur with chronic pain or injury, and postures (asanas) are chosen to help students feel whole and complete. Props and modifications are used to help all students experience the healing potential of each yoga posture. Breathing exercises (pranayama) and meditation help to support the nervous system of students with anxiety, stress, and depression. This class is suitable for students with injury, chronic pain, stress, anxiety, or depression.
Gentle Stretch
This class is appropriate for beginning students of all ages and abilities, students recovering from injury or illness, and women who are pregnant. It is intended to be very internal and consists of flowing, non-strenuous yoga movements designed to gently stretch mucles and release tension and stress.
Meditative Posture
This class uses traditional yoga postures to both stretch and strengthen the body. Postures are led in a slow and meditative manner, focusing on longer holdings and deep breathing in order to build heat and awareness throughout the practice. It is intended to provide an internal experience of connecting body and mind.
Yoga Workout
This class is for experienced students without injuries or who have the awareness to protect themselves if injured. It is an athletic and energetic yoga practice that incorporates a variety of yoga postures through multiple vinyasas. It is intended to increase the body's ability to hold energy and the mind's capacity to witness.
Deep Stretch
This class is designed to assist athletes in their weekly workouts. Each class includes postures that focus on opening the hips, stretching the shoulders and hamstrings, and postures that target lower back stress - all while strengthening stabilizing muscles in order to prevent injury.
Kids Yoga
Kids Yoga Classes are designed to excite and engage kids by using yoga games, breathing exercises, partner poses, and kids yoga postures. Each class is themed and encourages kids to be present, increase focus, build strength and flexibility, and reflect on their attitude and character. Some classes incorporate a craft that encourages the theme.
